GRAPHIC NOVEL

Kateřina Valentová investigates graphic narratives in which dual languages interact, that is, textual and iconic. The authors analysed are the comic book artist Carlos Giménez and the Belgian author Zidrou, among others (such as Antonio Altarriba, Roz Chast, Ezra Claytan Daniels, Joyce Farmer, Miguel Gallardo, or Lucy Knisley). The work that is currently under progress compiles the corpus of graphic narratives that deal with the theme of intergenerational relations in English, French, Spanish, Catalan and Slavic-speaking countries. Dr Valentová also focuses on managing creative writing workshops.
