On January 31st 2024, Núria Casado, Inesa Shevchenko, and Guillem Mas conducted an anti-ageist theatre workshop at the Aula Municipal de Teatre de Lleida, Lleida’s municipal drama school, as one of the special sessions of the school's 'Creative Week'. With participants of a wide variety of ages, ranging from 12 to 49 years old, the researchers resorted to various drama activities and led a series of discussions that enabled the group to delve into the exploration of their own age and that of others. In it, participants had the opportunity to observe and actively engage in the dual role that theatre plays, serving both as a reinforcement of cultural beliefs and a catalyst for generating social change.
Second anti-ageist theatre workshop
On March 7, 2024, Núria Casado, Inesa Shevchenko, and Guillem Mas returned to the Aula Municipal de Teatre de Lleida to conduct a second anti-ageist theatre workshop. This time, the participants ranged in age from 18 to 88 years old. Once again, the various theatrical dynamics proposed by the researchers, accompanied by subsequent discussions, provided the group with the opportunity to explore not only their own age but also that of others.
Third and fourth anti-ageist theatre workshops
On April 17th and 19th, 2024, Núria Casado, Inesa Shevchenko, and Guillem Mas conducted two more workshops on anti-ageist theatre at the Sant Jaume-Les Heures primary school in Lleida. On the first day, the researchers had the opportunity to work with a group of 8-year-old students. On the second day, they gathered students from 1st and 6th grades, fostering inter-level connections that amplify the impact of our message.
